Too tired for a meaningful title...

We have been pretty busy getting ready to go. Talked to my MIL today and found out the details about when and where we need to be. FIL is still not talking to anyone, including Marty or his brother. I was asked today to make sure Step-MIL doesn't start crap with MIL... or anyone else, for that matter.

Why can't my inlaws be normal? I so don't need drama in my life right now. I am so tired of drama and control freaks. I am looking forward to Sunday when I can go to my family reunion and talk to cows. (Real cows... not my family.)

Marty is being transferred to another city. Luckily, it isn't far. In fact, it is about the same distance as his restaurant now, and is the city he worked in when we moved here. (Utica, for anyone who cares.) He has to be there on the 17th, so there is no chance in hell that he will get a vacation any time soon. Sigh.

Speaking of vacation...
Colleen and I are talking about tossing all of our kids in a big van and heading to Arizona to visit her family. We might head to San Francisco to see her friend, and my cousins. We would head to Mexico for an over-nighter, and then to the beach in Southern California. While we are there we may as well head to Reno, Nevada to see my uncle and other cousins... but then, while we are in San Francisco we should head to Seattle to see my cousin from Croatia. And then... Well, you get the idea. So, how insane are we? I should probably tell you that she has five kids, and is pregnant with her sixth. We would of course wait until the baby is born. Probably go in the spring.

So far the plan for Fridays with Colleen is pretty good.
I think that in Science and Geography I am going to give each kid a packet of worksheets, assignments etc. based on their ability.
For example... Geography
For the older kids I will have them do a few of the "Geography Trails" and maybe a report. (Each week won't be a boring old written report.) For the younger kids I will just have them color the state flag.

We will do a science activity (like watch a movie or do an experiment) and watch a movie in Spanish. For Art, I think we are just going to use these plans and this page. Colleen also has a "learn to draw" program that I can't remember the name of right now.

We are also going to take a nature walk and have the kids journal, or take a field trip. So far we have talked about DIA, Lansing and a few other cool places.

Marie came and got her piggies today. We already miss the squeal! We couldn't remember which was which so we had "The Fat One" and "The one who eats really fast because the fat one will steal her food if she doesn't." Christian wants piggies again. I have a feeling we will be picking some out soon.

Well, that's about all for now. I will try to blog from my brothers house (I know you are all so excited to hear that LOL) but he has dial up so I make no guarantees.
